October Adventures

"Listen!  The wind is rising, and the air is filled with leaves!  We have had our summer evenings: Now for October eves!" -Humbert Wolfe

So many fun things in October!  Aside from Jojo's 2nd birthday, which I blogged about in my previous post, we did tons of other fun things!!

A horror movie is being filmed in Greensboro, which will start Kate Beckinsale.  It is called "The Disappointments Room," and is about a mother that moves her family to a haunted house in the country.  A scene was being filmed downtown one day and we went down to see some of the filming.  Here is one particular set background.  They constructed the facade on front of this building in downtown Greensboro out of particle board.  So cool!

As always, we went to the NC State Fair in Raleigh and had an amazing time!!! (That evening, after we got home, is the evening we found out we were pregnant with the 2nd baby we would end up miscarrying.  I had NO clue that day at the fair that I was pregnant, but looking back it's fun to see all of these fun little events that this sweet baby did with us during their short little life)...

The fun, at times, proved to be a little too much for Jojo

David's polish sausage dog.  We didn't exactly eat healthy at the fair this year.  ;-)

You cannot see it in this pic, but Joseph is reaching for the incredibly unhealthy yet delicious food on the table.

We saw a cow getting a bath...so funny.

Lisa the sheep.

Joseph...the sweetest little donkey ever.

And Farmer David
Another tradition - we went to the Lexington BBQ Festival.  Always a great time!

Sand sculpture

Car show - Joseph LOVED it!!!

"Can I have it, Mom?  PLEASE?"

Last year we sat down to rest in this same grassy area and Joseph was JUST learning to take a step or two.  So funny to see him run all over this year!

We had to get a picture in front of "Jojo's Ice Cream!"
We celebrated 5 years of marriage with a delicious dinner at Bravo while Jojo stayed with my parents!  Initially, we had planned to do an overnight or weekend trip somewhere not too far away for our 5 year anniversary.  Then, as time grew closer, we both decided we were not ready to leave Jojo overnight yet.  So then we settled on leaving him with my parents all day for an adventure.  Then we decided we'd miss him too much if we were away from him all day.  So, here you see where we ended up - an hour and a half dinner, lol.  We are so attached to our boy!

We went to Mt. Pleasant/Isle of Palms, SC, for a few days...

This picture is super blurry, but this is Jojo enjoying some Mexican food on Mt. Pleasant near our hotel

Hotel bed naps are the best

We carved our pumpkin and no one got hurt ;-) ...

And Jojo celebrated Halloween in style as a "Muscle-Bound Race Car Driver!"

Jojo with Ms. Carolyn

And with one of his other favorite Harris Teeter ladies

On Halloween evening, we started off by going to "Pumpkin Bash" at our church.  The Locks joined us!

Then we all stopped by Great Mimi's house to eat our dinners from Chick-fil-a...

Baby Grayson went as Olaf!

Addison enjoying a little pre-trick-or-treating candy from Pumpkin Bash

Then we hit the  streeets for trick or treating!!!

October, it was fun!  You are and always will be my favorite month!  Can't wait to see you next year!
