February Thus Far

"The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size." -Gertrude S. Wister

This has been pretty much the warmest February ever in this part of NC, and here's a few pictures from our month so far...

We celebrated Valentine's Day with a date night at La Rue Elm downtown.  Joseph stayed with my parents.  Lizzie, while not pictured here, came along with us since she's still nursing very frequently.

We also took some Valentine treats to our police officer friends to thank them for all they do to keep us safe...

We had a random dessert picnic on our den floor one Friday night.  Just because.

And because the weather was beautiful, we made sure we got out and about with the kiddos a lot...

And no blog of mine would be complete without lots of pictures of these sweeties...because, you know, I'm kind of crazy about them...

Joseph has been continuing his weekly occupational therapy with Miss Jenna and is making great strides in motor skills!

He also went to Sunday School at church for the first time in a veerrrrrryyyy long time with no hints at all of any separation anxiety.  So proud and I love the Valentine he made there. :-)

Trying on an heirloom ruffle top and bloomers set, which fits her in exactly the wrong season of course. ;-)

Not overjoyed about getting bundled up for a walk

This is what this diva does during her brother's OT

Because I'm all about capturing real moments!

We still have almost 1/2 of February to go...excited about what adventures await!

January 2017

"And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been." -Rainer Maria Rilke

It's so hard to believe it's already 2017!  Here's a look at our January!

We had our first big snow of the winter...about 10 inches!  Three of us had a lot of fun playing in our front yard and driveway while Elisabeth enjoyed the snow from the back of our Highlander...

Our house

Lizzie turned 6 months old!!!  I'm not sure how she's grown up so quickly, but I kind of wish it would slow down!!  She's sitting up on her own and army crawling, and I already miss having a teeny tiny newborn!

She also started solid foods.  I've tried to do mostly baby-led-weaning with her, but I have done a few purees here and there.  So far we've done carrots, banana, pumpkin, green beans, and pears.  Carrots are a least favorite (although, as shown by the pictures, she'll obviously eat them) and pumpkin and green beans are favorites!  So fun to see what she likes!

We also had a full evaluation for Joseph regarding a few developmental delays he's had.  His assessment was done by the Cone Health Developmental Center and he has started occupational therapy on motor skills at Cone Health Outpatient Pediatric Rehab.  I'm happy to report that he's progressing BEAUTIFULLY!  We can't believe how far he's come in just a few weeks, and we're anticipating him to fully catch up soon. :-)

Waiting for our second assessment appointment

He had fun throughout the whole process!

And he LOVES occupational therapy!
And, as always, a bunch of random photos of these fabulous individuals ;-)

We trudged down to Natty Greene's one evening during the snowstorm

Love this little guy!

And love that sweet smile!

Someone thoroughly enjoyed the box our double jogging stroller came in

My little golfer!
Now such thing as too much bow...

Or too much bonnet...I mean, come on y'all, we're in the south!

Wearing this heirloom gown worn by myself and my mother as babies

This VBAC baby was the very best "push present." ;-)

Yay!  I'm officially caught up on blogging!  Now to start capturing February memories!
