December 2016

"The season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial fire of charity in the heart." -Washington Irving

December and all of it's festivities meant another busy but fun month for our family!  Here are some of the things we did!

Lizzie started working really hard on trying to crawl.  She didn't succeed much in December but, at the time of this writing (early February) I can say she's progressed to a pretty solid army crawl.  Here are some of the pictures of her December attempts...

Joseph and Lizzie continued to love on each other as much as ever.  There's just no end to how much these two enjoy each other...they are best friends...

We attended the Festival of Lights Downtown...

And also Breakfast with Santa at the Friendly Center Chick-fil-a...

We enjoyed Christmas Eve with my parents and grandmother...

And Christmas morning with the same people, after, of course, Santa came...

For lunch, my aunt, uncle, and cousins from Chapel Hill came in to join the fun and our Christmas meal.  The women roasted a turkey inside, and the men fried a small breast outside as a fun addition this year.  After we all sat down to eat together, more present-opening ensued.

After Christmas, we spent a week in Highlands, NC, visiting David's parents, sister, and our nephews (as well as David's aunt who came up from Mississippi to visit for a few days).  Such a great time!

With my youngest nephew, Bennett

Lizzie and her middle cousin, Ace

Jojo, Poppy, and Bennett

Mimi and Lizzie

Ace, Lizzie, and Ryder

Aunt Mary Jo with Lizzie...it was so good to see her!!!

With nothing but male cousins, Princess Elisabeth was quite doted-on during our trip!  Joseph and all three of his cousins jumped to her every need!

Lizzie and Aunt Lindsay

Lizzie and Ryder, the only two cousins who share an olive complexion

Princess being waited on ;-)

Ice skating!

And, some snapshots from the rest of the month...

This was taken early in December at a blood drive.  Lizzie got hungry in the middle of my donation session and, when baby wants to eat, baby eats.  David had to capture it on camera.

That wraps up 2016!  January 2017 post coming tomorrow and that will officially make me caught up!
