Chicken Stew, Shooting, Brunch/Pottery, and Game Night

"Live and work but do not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it." ~ Eileen Caddy

We had a busy, fun-filled weekend! It started Friday evening, when we went out to our friend Sterling's house in East Bend (waaaaay out in the country) for a chicken stew. I've been told that a lot of people outside of NC don't know about chicken stews, and they are really missing out! It's basically a big gathering out in the country, where chicken stew (a sort of different version of chicken soup) and sometimes chili are served, along with bonfires, hay rides, and lots of fellowship. We had a fabulous time! David ate chicken stew and I are chili. It was really cold, so I spent a lot of time around the huge bonfire (it was HOT!) Here are some pictures from the event...

The next morning (Saturday), our Marriage Foundations class from church did separate guys/ladies days. The husbands went out to a shooting club in Rockingham County and got to go trap shooting (sort of like skeet, but a little different). I'm told that my husband did quite well...he had done skeet shooting before but never trap, and he had a blast!

Meanwhile, the ladies began the morning by having brunch at Mimi's Cafe. Yum!!!

After that, we headed over to The Mad Platter (a paint your own pottery studio here in Greensboro) to show off our creative side...

We ended the fun day by going to game night at the house of some of our Marriage Foundations friends, Brian and Marsha. Here is a picture of me holding our friends Shane and Jaclyn's sweet baby boy...

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful friends to fellowship with! We are truly blessed!
