September 2017 in Photos

"In many ways, September feels like the busiest time of the year.  The kids go back to school, work piles up after the summer's dog days, and Thanksgiving is suddenly upon us." -Brene Brown

September started out with a bang.  After Joseph, David, and Lizzie getting over Hand, Foot, and Mouth, on Labor Day I woke up with it. And I got the worst case of all of us...sores all over, fever, horrific chills (seriously, nothing I did got me warm), nausea, sore throat, the whole bit.

Joseph continued working hard at OT, and was able to go from weekly appointments to every-other-week...

We had some landscaping work done and, as part of that, rearranged some areas in our backyard, which was nice to enjoy on pretty days

Speaking of the backyard...what do you do when you want to watch a college football game, but also want to spend the evening having a bonfire in your backyard?  You turn the TV to the window, turn the volume way up, and watch it outside while the fire blazes away...redneck style.

We went to our annual neighborhood picnic by Lake Euphemia, and my parents joined us.

We also enjoyed Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, including lunch at Snappy Lunch...

Joseph got to meet Barney!

Love these people!

What they look like every day waiting on Daddy to get home from work

This boy has been loving Awana this year so far.  I'm one of his Cubbies group leaders and it's been so fun to watch him earn badges for his vest as he memorizes different Bible verses!
