June 2017 in Photos

"Summer has filled her veins with light and her heart is washed noon." -C. Day Lewis

June is typically a pretty laid-back month for our family, but that didn't stop us from cramming in plenty of fun!

We took a Saturday afternoon walk at Bog Garden...

We attended Parisian Promenade at Bicentennial Gardens...

We took a day trip to Boone.  Full-disclosure here, because I like to keep the blog real: I had probably the worst cold I've EVER had on this trip.  I actually felt like I was dying, and I couldn't breathe at all.  We had fun, but don't let my smile fool you...it was masking full physical misery. ;-)

We ate at the Daniel Boone Inn...

We had fun at Mystery Hill...

And we made some stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway...

Boone was followed a week or two later by Father's Day weekend.  That Saturday evening we celebrated how wonderful Daddy is by getting dressed up and and going out to eat for Brazilian food...

Typical Lizzie

We love this man!!!
And the next day, on Father's Day itself, we had our sweet Elisabeth dedicated to the Lord at church, choosing Zephaniah 3:17 as her life verse..."The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."  Afterwards, we had family back to our house for a reception.

Joseph went to VBS at our church for the first time.  I volunteered as a greeter for VBS so I could be there near Joseph, and I brought Lizzie along.  She had lots of fun hanging out at church with mommy and waiting for her big brother...

Mr. Doug stopped to play with Lizzie one evening

And as always, I'll leave you with pictures of these nuts...

Always a mix of girly and tomboy

Lizzie and Daddy snuggles
This boy found my phone one day and activated the selfie feature...lots and lots of photos on my phone just like this one.
