I'll blog about the rest of October in another post, but it was worth doing a separate post on our early October Highlands trip (to visit my in-laws, sister-in-law, and nephews) because I had so many pictures. :-)
On the way up we stopped at Asheville Pizza and Brewing to eat lunch. It's now become one of our regular stops along the way...
Once in Highlands, there was lots of fishing...
We went to the park at Highlands Rec Center...
And also a couple of times to the big park down in Cashiers...
David and I got to have another date at the neighborhood overlook while Mimi, Poppy, and Aunt Lindsay kept Joseph and Elisabeth...
We ate at lots of good places, including Randevu for lunch in Cashiers one day and ice cream at Sweet Treats in Highlands another day...
There's a petting zoo behind Randevu...so fun! |

We also went to The Bascom, the art museum, and the kids had fun creating things in the kids area...
It was also the first time we'd been in Highlands/Cashiers for the Leaf Festival in Cashiers. It was a ton of fun!
And of course, most of all, we just enjoyed sweet times with family!
