Week in Review - 3/14/2016-3/20/2016

"We do not remember days, we remember moments." -Cesare Pavese

We spent last week visiting David's family in Highlands, NC!  We left Monday afternoon and came home Sunday.  We took an extra-long trip this time since this will be our last vacation before little miss Elisabeth arrives.  So much fun!

We always stop for dinner on our way up in Marion, NC.  This time we went to Highway 55 Burgers.  We had been there once before.  Joseph likes it, because they serve the children's meals in a "classic car" made out of cardboard. :-)

Once there, we had lots of time over the week to spend at parks...both The Village Green Community Park just down the mountain in Cashiers...

This little guy...love him.

Family of 4...Lizzie inside of Mommy ;-)

And the park in Cullasaja Club, Mimi and Poppy's neighborhood...

Poppy swinging the swing-lover!

We ate our every day for lunch.  We went to Asia House, Cornucopia (in Cashiers), Mountain Fresh, Sapphire Brewing Co. (in Sapphire), and Madison's (at the Old Edwards Inn) while we were there.  Asia House and Madison's are two of our regular favorites...and all were delicious.

Enjoying his lunch at Cornucopia in Cashiers

There was a lot of fishing that took place, as well as some paddle boat rides around the neighborhood lake.  David and his dad caught a lot of bass and bream.

We also had lots of fun riding around the club in the golf cart and enjoying the natural beauty. :-)

David and I had a "date night" one evening at the Cullasaja Club overlook while Mimi and Poppy kept Jojo for about 45 minutes.  The overlook is built into the side of a cliff and overlooks Whiteside Mountain.  Gorgeous.

Another overlook view.  It was VERY cold and windy up there that evening, but so pretty.

I brought with us some garlic naan (Indian bread) from Whole Foods.  Joseph loves naan and snacked on it the whole trip, which meant he smelled like garlic the whole time.  Love my little ethnic-food-lover.

We got to go to the indoor pool at the Highlands Recreation Center...

And we even got to enjoy some downtime of just sitting around their home!

Falling asleep on Mimi :-)

On the way home, we always stop, again, in Marion, for lunch.  We also stop at the Marion Wal Mart so that Joseph can ride rides and play games in the little arcade there (yes, cheap entertainment!)...

Chinese food on the way home!

Thank you, Mimi and Poppy, for a wonderful time!!!  Next time we go to Highlands, we'll have a baby girl to bring with us!!!
